Richard Clark

Senior Advisor

Richard Clark is a globally recognized expert in advanced materials and energy-storage technologies, with more than 25 years of experience spanning lithium-ion batteries, next-generation energy systems, and specialty carbon and ceramic materials. As Senior Advisor to Allied Graphite, he provides strategic guidance on technology, intellectual property, and product positioning as the company scales toward commercial production of high-performance anode materials. He is also a member of the Allied Graphite Steering Committee, supporting long-term technical and strategic decision-making.

Richard is Global Head of Specialty Materials and Processes at Appian Capital Advisory, where he leads technical and intellectual-property diligence and oversight across energy-transition investments. Prior to Appian, he spent over a decade at Morgan Advanced Materials, most recently as Global Lead for Energy Storage, coordinating materials development, commercial strategy, and customer engagement across lithium-ion, solid-state batteries, fuel cells, and EV supply chains.

A registered patent agent, Richard has authored and co-invented numerous patents covering battery materials, electrolytes, and advanced manufacturing processes, and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and industry proceedings. He is a frequent speaker and session chair at leading international battery and materials conferences and serves on advisory boards including the UK’s Faraday Institution programs for next-generation batteries.

Richard holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and brings to Allied Graphite a rare combination of deep technical insight, IP strategy expertise, and practical understanding of what global battery customers require from reliable, long-term anode material suppliers.
